Environmental pressures and legislative changes toward litter reduction,
consumption and waste, will require companies to use packaging that
reduces the environmental impact.
reduce:
Our environmental plastic bags weigh 75% less than the paper shoppers. Approximately 4 trucks of paper bags = 1 truck of plastic bags.
re-use:
Plastic bags' life is often extended as it is re-used for many purposes. Paper bags may get one useful life and often can't fulfill that life when it comes in contact with liquids.
recycle:
Encore™ recyclable products are made with a minimum of 25% post-consumer recycled (PCR) material and are 100% recyclable, minimizing the amount of plastic entering landfills.

Encore™ environmental features:

Post-consumer recycled plastic: diverting plastics from landfills through recycling is an

- PCR material can be blended into HD Super Wave™, Ameritote™, Merchandise™ and T-Shirt Bags.
- Orders of 2,500 lbs. or more/extrusion run (medium size bag = 75,000 bags)

Post Consumer Recycled Material
Encore™ products also feature Degradable Film Technology:
- A unique additive can be used to allow the bags to degrade within 18 months. The resulting
particles will decompose into simple materials as found in nature, such as water, carbon dioxide,
and biomass. (Degradable bags require oxygen and ambient moisture.)
- Degradable additives can be blended into any of the manufacturer's products and in any gauge.
- Orders of 2,500 lbs. or more per extrusion run.
The new Encore™ line is compostable for bags that require
biodegradability in a composting environment (Command is currently testing this
line to ensure quality and performance).
Encore™ Biodegradable features include:
- Wheat/potato/corn or combination with PLA based products
- Renewable content
- ASTM 6400 standards met for markets like San Francisco
Note: Compostable bags do not have the same physical properties and strength characteristics as
traditional plastic bags. Compostable bags are NOT recyclable.
